Ficus microcarpa 'Green Island'
DESCRIPTION: Compact growing fig, dense round glossy foliage, little cream-red berries, ideal grown in containers and used for low hedging and groundcover.USE IN: Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in a container for indoor/outdoor or patio planting, bonsai,coastal hedges, ground cover.
PLANTING: Suited to full sun and shade, perfect for almost anywhere frost-free. Water during dry periods. Prefers warm climates.
CARE: Mulch and water with a seaweed based fertiliser on planting to reduce transplant shock, follow with regular watering until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune regularly to help maintain a tidy growth habit. Apply a slow release fertiliser twice yearly and protect from frost.
